6 steps to perfectly clean windows

  1. Choose a day

Having a nice cool and dry day is perfect for cleaning your windows. If it’s sunny and hot your spray will dry on the hot windows before you start wiping it out. If you really have to clean your windows on not so perfect day at least you could start from the shady side of your home.

  1. Remove dust and dirt

The first thing you’d want to do, in order to prevent muddy rivers on your windows is to brush or vacuum dust from the windows. If you leave it there it will mix with your cleaner and the result won’t be pretty.

  1. The right cleaning product

As a general rule of thumb, the finest mist coming out of the nozzle is best. This was you could ensure the liquid will stay on the windows and won’t cause any drippings and spillage.

You will have to take into account the type of windows you are targeting as well.

Maybe this is the place to share a DIY recipe for a homemade cleaning solution.

  • 2 cups of water
  • ½ cup of white or cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup of rubbing alcohol 70% concentration

Pour everything in a spray bottle and label it with the ingredients for safety.

  1. Use a microfiber cloth

The old-school technique is to use newspapers, but we advise you to use the advantage of the modern world and try Casabella Microfiber Glass cloths, for example. They will eliminate dirt, spots, and smudges from mirrors and windows without a scratch.

When cleaning the windows, it is a good idea to wipe one side vertically and the other horizontally. This way you will know which side is the problematic one.

  1. No squeegee

Especially for small surfaces. The risk of drops and mess is too high. They will do you good on the bigger size windows.

  1. Make a Plan

The normal cleaning schedule for the windows is just a few times per year. You can break it down room by room if you don’t have too much time.
